C-R-U-D-E, in my not-so-humble opinion. Cut-off wheels and cold-roll do not a custom make.
I worked for a couple of years in a local street rod/race car shop, and I have to agree with you 100%. I've seen a couple of the OCC bikes at shows, and I certainly wouldn't want one. Besides, most of their creations aren't rideable for more than a few blocks at a time. Some of them you can't even see over the triple trees!! I've owned and built a few British choppers over the years, and first and foremost they had to be rideable. My next chopper will be built with that thought in mind as well. I'm just curious to see if my 42 year-old back can handle a rigid frame as well as my 20 year-old back did. LOL

OMG! I wish I had that picture for my kilt speech a few weeks ago. Talk about face recognition among the college crowd!

And have you ever noticed the spiked caps they put on the triple trees? Just what I would want facing me in case of an accident.

Like I said, those aren't bikes for the road. They're for show and to drive just enough to prove they CAN be ridden. Some of them are pretty nice looking but who is going to risk that big an investment in traffic.

A friend of mine (who has put more miles on his current bike than I've got on my last 3 put together), is fond of saying... "those bikes are wonderful vehicles for self expression: but any resemblance to a functioning motorcycle is purely cosmetic and probably accidental".
Bryan..I tend to agree with him...

Rolling sculpture. Not my cup of tea. I'm of the mindset that if it can't be ridden or driven, I don't want it. My bikes have all been rideable, as were my hotrods. Might not be the most practicle or comfortable, but many miles put on the none the less.

Just make sure your donor card is signed before you ride.

I wasn't going to let the cat out of the bag, but there IS an OCC Kilt.
As soon as the pictures arrive, I'll post them.
Arise. Kill. Eat.
