That reminds me of an incident this past election day. I was working the polls for one of the two major parties {party affiliation withheld to keep a political battle from starting a political debate}.
One of the big debates here in VA this past election was over immigration. A Hispanic female came to vote and she went to pick up pamphletes from both parties. She wound up asking me more questions about the candidates than the other party's volunteer. After she'd gone in to vote he turned to me and said, "Are you sure she's legal and can vote?" I guess he was trying to be funny. So I told him, "Oh, I'm positive that she's on the voter roles, we just finished forging her papers last night!"
He didn't make another smart comment after that.

That's a great idea! Campaigning is all about publicity and exposure (no pun intended) and the kilt would certainly draw people's attention. It might cost a few votes from the close-minded, but everyone would remember the candidate in the kilt.

Wasn't someone over on the UK board running for a local public office? I think it was Izzy.

Bubba,
I attempted a run for City Council. Elijah I believe ran for State Representative or Senator, just cannot remember which one.
