They are also the heaviest element found so far.

government employees...
Please remember gents that some of us on this forum are government employees -- I for one am proud of my service to my country as a seasonal park ranger with the US National Park Service, making sure that the story of the Civil War and the 537 Americans who gave their lives at the Battle of Wilson's Creek are not forgotten.
Rant off.

I posted this on another forum-
I pretty much went straight to the
scource of this matter. I called the High School and had a private 15 minute
talk with the secretary in the Principles office.
I will not talk about all that was said because it was a private conversation,
I will say that she was very nice pleasent and straight forward.
She told me that her first thought when Nate Warmack was forced to change clothes was that it was a double standard. What about all the young
ladies wearing very "revealing" clothing, nothing was said about that.
She said the Principle is a decent man and so is young Warmack.
Evidently Nate Warmack had talked with an Asst. Principle about the kilt
and was given the OK. (maybe this wasn't passed up the chain of command?)
She was shocked when I said the information was in the "Scotsman".
She said MSN wants an interview.
I think thats about all I can and want to share.

As I've said before, to assume that the principal is some kind of beaurocratic ogre is really convenient but wrong. The tone of some of the earlier posts and copies of the emails sent to the guy were rather provocative and, let's face it, does it serve much purpose to alienate someone right off the bat before you've tried to find out what their side of the story is?
I sent an email early on which, I hope, was a reasonable request that these folks get together and try to reach an understanding based on the assumption that everybody is acting in good faith. The principal has responsibilities (least of which is keeping his job so he can feed his family) and has to try to balance the demandsof a lot of groups...I know several school administrators and it is a b******t job in many regards: no matter how hard you try, you can't make everybody happy.
You gotta ask yourself whether you're involving yourself in this matter because you want to see an amenable solution reached or if you enjoy acting insulted and are itchin' for a fight. Act accordingly.
