Looks like a great way to burn off a few of the Christmas chocs! Looks great Derek - but I'm not used to not seeing the yellow yet! Happy New Year to you both - and to the rest of the X-marks Clan,

    Phil

Sounds like a great day! Thanks for reminding me to "slow down and smell the roses". My wife and I like to go out for long walks too, but somehow a busy life sometimes makes me "forget" to take time to do it. Great pictures too!

A good friend wrote me about a motor trip she and her husband took over the Dart moors...snow blowing and the ponies covered in snow. Your trek looks nicer.

Great looking area Derek. May we do that 'stroll' (and the pub!) next time I come to visit - in the Spring?

Nice pics and nice account. You've hit upon another one of my favorite hobbies - hiking to waterfalls. We have 198 named waterfalls up here in the Upper Penninsula, and my family and I have been to around 60 of them.

That looks like it would be a nice place to visit in the summer time.

Just lovely, Derek; but your description of the temperature & the wind over the moors made me think, "Shades of Wuthering Heights!"

    Thanks so much for sharing.

JerMc ... I can't answer you question as I do not have a scar on my knee due to an operation.
Fly ... its an Ancient McKay/Morgan Tartan.
Blu .. the waterfall in the picture is Scwd yr Eira on the river Hepste in an area known as the waterfall country within the Brecon Beacons National Park. There are also lots of Caves in the area too.
Ham ... most certainly we will be going to that area and show you around when you come over in the spring... and the pub ... its one of those that have never changed with time .. its a little gem. Hope your back problem is improving.
I must admit the pub was the icing on the cake at the end of a long day on the moors and hills.

I think he thought that the handle of your Sgian Dubh was a scar. When I first saw the pic, I also thought, "Hey, what's on his knee?" then realized what it was.

    Again, thanks for the pics!
