Interesting thought but I don't think a kilt changes ones personality. Wearing a kilt tends to make us more aware of our immediate envronment because we are setting ourself apart from the rest. The kilt simply forces us to display some of those traits we have been conditioned to suppressed in our lives.

I agree. That's why I said in my above post, "I think the kilt brings out your self confidence, just like anything you do that challenges your courage."

While I don't think that the kilt changes who you are, it can give you a new attitude.

Indeed, while my opinion is that the kilt doesn't change you. the ancillary activity does.

I could be a paramedic. Just sayin'

For some reason wearing a kilt makes me feel more manly. Don't know what it is, but I feel more confident and comfortable in a kilt. And that attitude is noticeable in my bearing and demeanor.

I've also noticed that I am much happier.

It's amazing that something as simple as an article of clothing can bring about personal improvement. But, I truely believe that the kilt has done this for me - indeed, for many of us.

Darrell, not to be too forward here but I have indeed noticed this in your posts. Good on man!

    Hmmmm... This an interesting thread.
One of the reasons I don’t wear the Kilt as often as would like, is the simple fact that I don’t like to attract attention. It has always been my style to blend into the background and observe others. And, as I pointed out in another thread, I DON'T like to be laughed at and I have a mean temper.
I like the Kilt because of the way it feels and would perfer that no one even noticed.
Perhaps the Kilt will have a positive effect on my personality. Then again, I may be too old to change.

Thanks Dee. I've definately loosened up. I'm learning a lot here from all of you, and at the same time having fun! And I owe it all to the kilt, and all you guys.

    Slainte!

I can't remember a single incident in which I've been laughed at while wearing a kilt. It may be my attitude while wearing it (I'm told that I have a superior air about me) or it may be that I tend to very traditional outfits and so its more what someone expects with a kilt and they assume I'm going to an event or something.

But I do get a ton of compliments and far more amorous advances than ever before!
