Let me see if I get this thread correct, we are embarassed because we are eating by the light of a full blue moon and we have a fly on our kilt?
OK I'll zip it right now.

As no-one else seems to know, allow me to explain. A zipper, or fly, is the zip fastening on a pair of men's trousers (remember those?), or pants as they are known in the USA.
Whoever said we had a common language!!

I was running into the "forgetting to zip up" problem before I started wearing kilts. I don't even want to think about what it would be like if I had to go back to pants for some reason. Another benefit of the kilt is that you do not have to worry about splitting the seat of your pants.
