    David,

Yes! I have worn mine with socks, without socks, sandals, socks pulled like traditional hose, socke rolled down for casual. T-shirts, sweat shirts, haven't worn a muscle shirt out yet but have worn one with the SK at home, sweater (wait, you said summer!), whatever. This is pretty much true of any kilt, tartan or contewmporary, although the contemporaries have a slight advantage with the pockets. Just me, I always feel more dressy when I put on the sporran.

I will look again at USAK, UK, Freedom & Rkilt. But how to accessorize?
Can I wear nikes? sandels? socks/no socks?
    Any others to look at?

Someone once told me, "treat your kilt like a pair of jeans when getting dressed". It works great for me. Low cut socks, shirt tucked out or in, boots, kilt hose...Pf course solid colors give you a better chance to wear patterned t's or with designs on them.
