Mine are all covered here, as well. I was glad to see I'm not the only fan of The Englishman Who Climbed a Hill and Came Down a Mountain.
I bet I've watched The Quiet Man a hundred times. I have both of them on DVD, along with Braveheart and Rob Roy.

I'll have to say The Quiet Man. It's also probably one of my favorite John Wayne movies as well. But then I like about anything with Maureen O'Hara in it, and the two of them made good movies together.

Not situated in Scotland, Ireland, etc., but it has a Scottish main character, & is a film you won't soon forget:
To End All Wars
A true story about four Allied POW's who endure harsh treatment from their Japanese captors during World War II while being forced to build a railroad through the Burmese jungle. Ultimately they find true freedom by forgiving their enemies. Based on the true story of Ernest Gordon.

If you wonder what Ireland and the Irish are like, at least in my experiance;
The Commitments
The Matchmaker
Waking Ned Devine
The General
John Boorman, who directed The General, makes most of his films in Ireland. Two of my favorites of his are "Zardoz" and the King Arthur movie "Excaliber" which really showcase the Erie counrtyside.
Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

The Erie countryside? He filmed in Northwest PA? I knew there was a reason I liked that film ...
In no particular order:
Excaliber
Waking Ned Devine
Rob Roy
Braveheart
The Quiet Man
Greyfriars Bobby
Darby O'Gill and the Little People (for being Sean Connery's first film role, if nothing else)
Loch Ness (I like the premise too)
Monarch of the Glen
so many more yet to see ...
