Does it ever rain there ?
I was there for a month in May 1999 and we only had one rainy day. Of course I am from BC, so I just might not have noticed or thought twice about it.
Great pictures Pour1Malt

What the deuce is a Bruce?
Say, Pour1Malt, seeing the fine photo of Robert the Bruce there, I'm hoping you can clear something up for me. Can you tell me what a "Bruce" is? I've heard of other monarchs described as "the Great" or "the Lion-hearted", but with Robert being described as "the Bruce" it makes me wonder what exactly a "Bruce" is. I only know "Bruce" as a first name. Does this mean Robert the Bruce had a split personality, you know, sometimes he was "Robert" but other times he was "Bruce"?
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

I suppose that the grass on the other side of the fence always seems greener. Today was one of these rare dry days in southern Scotland when I was actually able to go out in a kilt without having to cover it over with a PVC raincoat. When I spent 24 days on Vancouver Island we had glorious sunshine every day and never saw a drop of rain until we were leaving for the airport on our final day.
I've often heard the remark "Oh for the blue skies of Canada."

lang story ... but ai'll summerize...
"The Bruce" is Englishization o' "de Brus"... which is really the family name.....
it's Norman French ai think....
