I know i have no patience but this really drives me crazy. I posted this thread about not hearing from SK.net and i recieved an email stating that my shipment would be sent out last friday. I called the updated number that Mike1 gave me and got through to SK.net. The gent took my invoice number and that he would check on the order and tracking number and email my account with the shipping information (I like to keep track of orders that exceed $500+). Well, it has been 3 days with no email. I would not normally have this much of a problem but i am going to use the kilt and accessories in Europe in less that 3 weeks. If someone reads this post from any of the Scottishkilt.net family (including all of their other sites) please contact me or send me the information.

    Hi, guys,

I ordered my first kilt (MacNicol Hunting Modern 8-yd tank) from him in February, and it arrived ahead of schedule last week of March. Really NICE workmanship, and I was more than pleased. The kilt is the one I'm wearing in my avatar photo.

Frankly, I'd order another one from them in a heartbeat. Very nice folks to deal with.

Nothing is worn under the kilt...everything works just fine!!

Thank the Great Kilted One!!! My goods are on their way from Scotland! Now my world cup trip will be complete (as long as the US team does well). Thanks to Scottishkilts for replying quickly to my request!

We can supply this style, however, it will have to be specially made, so you will currently be looking at between 4 and 6 weeks turn around time. We can normally turn around custom jackets faster than this, but things are a little hectic just now as we are right in the middle of the season.

For information, the style shown on the site is a Wallace Jacket with 3 buttons on the front, no eppaulettes, and a single button cuff. Just let me know if you need any more information.
That was a pretty fast reply, methinks. Of course, when I ordered my wedding kilt from them last year, I did have some problems getting an answer re: ship date, but it did arrive well before I needed it and it was well made, as was my black Argyle jacket and waistcoat. I'm wearing the waistcoat right now, in fact.
A word to the wise - I ordered that same jacket from them ... and received a one button jacket with epaulettes that looked nothing like the one pictured on their site. But that wasn't even half the problems.

When the jacket arrived (after a loooong wait and dozens of unanswered e-mails) the lining was a full 1½" too short and too narrow. It looked OK on the hanger, but when I put the jacket on, it puckered up in back like a cheap hooker onto a fatcat rube. I looked like a giant Scottish duck.

What's more, all the buttons on the vest started to come undone while I was trying it on for the first time - even before I put the jacket on. Mrs. Gilmore's sharp eye also caught that they were all sewn on at odd angles.

The jacket and vest were not wearable straight out of the box.

And that was after so much trouble with Viking Technology (the owners of that and many other similar Web sites), that I had to call my credit card company and contest the charge. Only then did I finally started to get responses from those guys.

You can read the sordid details in this thread.

There are other Scottish merchants who've justly earned a good reputation by delivering as promised when promised, and by being responsive to customer concerns. When it comes to Viking Technology Web sites, I suggest caution. There are better alternatives.

    Thank you,
    Scott Gilmore
