    Just not kilted.....

I ride a '79 Honda GL1000 Wing w/ a Vetter fairing and the Samsonite bag setup. It's sorely in need of the freshening up I am giving her before summer hits.

My all time favorite was a 1977 Yamaha XS650D Vertical Twin. You know, the one that looks like a Brit Bike, not the chopped looking one. I still keep an eye out for one to replace the one I (stupidly) sold.

I am a firm believer in ATGATT-been knocked down once. I walked away (more or less) but the 1978 CB750K was toast. I also did a getoff at 60 MPH on a greasey offramp on a 1972 CL350. Both times heavy leathers and a full face helmet saved my behind.

AL-58...That's a nice 1987 BMW K100RS with a HRD sidecar. I did a double take on the front end and the hack on the left side (notice I didn't say wrong side?). What front end is that? I know stock should be a telescopic.

    Hi, Ray

It's a custom made leading Link front suspension, like an Earles fork on an old /2 BM. The idea is to push the axle forward and reduce the trail which makes the it much lighter to steer. It's not uncommon on a sidecar bike. This is my 4th sidecar, every one a K100, every one a HRD, but at least in OZ it's a hard combo to beat.

Like Ronstew, I drive a BMW R1150RT, but regretfully, not got a pic. Ive had a bike for the past 40 years, starting with a Lambretta scooter when I left school at 16.

Three years ago I went to the Scottish Motorcycle Show and set off from the hotel, kilted. After 200 yards I realised that March in Scotland in a kilt on a bike was not a good idea, and the exposure made me feel very self-concious, so I stopped and put my waterproof trousers on.

Can't believe I had not seen this thread before.. My whole family rides, and I work in the bike industry. I've been riding for about 28 years, over 350,000 street miles, been though 42 states including Alaska, + Canada and Mexico. Quite a few different bikes over the years, some I wish I'd kept. Currently own a Honda VTX1300 Retro, my wife rides it more than me. My Dad and I mostly fool with our sportscars.
