I do not wear fly plaids & I think your pins is great, however I do think it is a little small for the job.

I read that you weren't asking HOW to fasten the flyplaid but I do want to tell how I do it because I've always worried about damaging the jacket with the brooch pin.
I use two medium sized safety pins and put them through the flyplaid and jacket at the right distance apart,( depending on the size of the Brooch), and at the same level. Then I hide the safety pins in the folds of the flyplaid as I put the larger pin on the brooch through the plaid and the small holes of the safty pins where they bend so that the flyplaid and brooch is supported by the two safety pins and the small holes left by the thinner pins didn't leave large holes in the jacket.
I hope that I described this well enough to understand easily.
Chris.

Chris,
That's precisely what I needed to know as far as fastening the flyplaid. I like the support system you create by attaching the pins together. What a great idea!
Thank you!!

I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

This picture is nice, and all, but movement and gravity will not allow the plaid to splayed across your back for long.
