I work for the Federal government and my agency has a very permissive dress policy. Even so, going kilted would initially probably have to be on special days, such as National Tartan Day (who could argue?). I'll just have to see how folks especialy management) react. Good thing is, it's hard for them to fire me. Not that their displeasure can't be evidenced in other ways.

My company supplies us with uniforms that they expect us to wear. I agree with that policy. We have a lot of our techs that wear shorts and scruffy t-shirts. If I were in charge, they could go home and change. Image is a lot when you are the first and possibly only person the customer sees. In the span of a day, I have gone from an Ice Cream storage freezer (-40 degrees) to a plant that uses steam in their production facility. I carry a freezer suit with me all year round. But I still wont wear shorts on the job. When I go home, I can wear what I want.
