I'm sorry Robin. The pleats view will have to wait until the weekend - it is on the 'to do' list - but 'Tripod' has rushed off in a huff, muttering something incomprehensible under his breath. It's my belief he's been 'at the bottle' - but you didn't hear that from me.

It must have been Huge. Is the kilt Self constricting.. If it gets too tight I'd take it off quick ?

Believe you are right, KT. I just don't think this one could be worn formally - well, not 'British formally' anyway! I will try it with both my charcoal tweed and brown tweed Argylls, but I think that will be stretching things a bit too far! Watch this space (or one nearby!).

I sure hope it doesn't shed it's skin once a year. That could be extremely embarassing depending on where Hamish is at the time.

Oh, my God! I hadn't thought of that. Do they give any warning that they're about to 'strip off'?

    I think the expression "Slough"

    Slough

    Noun

    1. Necrotic tissue; a mortified or gangrenous part or mass.

    2. A hollow filled with mud.

    3. A stagnant swamp (especially as part of a bayou).

    4. Any outer covering that can be shed or cast off (such as the cast-off skin of a snake).

    Verb

    1. Cast off hair, skin, horn, or feathers; of animals.
