Another vote for losing the sgian dubh if you're not wearing kilt hose. I also hate the plastic belt, but I respect your right to disagree and wear what you like.

The kilt looks good, as does the XMarks kilt pin.

    Streetcar

I'm curious. Does the left side of the apron tend to curl outward a little? It did with my Irish saffron, and it looks like it is in the pic. Otherwise,it's a nice look for you.

I am not a big fan of the nylon belts and plastic buckles. However, they worked well with the Nightstalker and the combat boots. Good work, my friend. If the army was to have the soldiers wear kilts in combat, they would have worn the same thing.

Streetcar, is this the first time we have seen you? If so, thank you for taking the plunge at last, and let this be the first of many.

Much as I dislike the Black Watch tartan (like Royal Stewart, it has been done to death commercially throughout my life!), that appears to be a fine kilt and I certainly like the effect of the nylon belt with that superb SWK sporran. Well done.

The SWK sporran is amazing, and is the one I choose almost every day (on days that I actually NEED a sporran, that is!). It can never be classed as 'dressy' but as a solid, knock-about day-sporran, I believe it takes some beating.

    Thanks all!

Regarding the belt / sporran choice:
I'm not a huge fan of the nylon belt either. But the SWK is the only sporran I currently own, and I thought I nylon belt would "match" better than a leather belt.

To that end, I am wearing my duty boots, rather than hose and flashes. The look I was attempting was definately a casual "working" look.

The point on the sgian is taken (no pun intended - well, maybe just a little bit...) A habit from my uniformed days, I'm afraid, but I think you are all right. It doesn't really belong.

Turpin: Yes, the left side of the apron is curling a bit. I'm hoping a little more work with the iron will fix it.

2 Nice looking SWK items you got there.

Hopefully I'll see ya around the Seattle, sometime.

    Cheers,

This seems to be a common problem with SWK kilts. check out
    this thread for a fix.
