Court finished at lunchtime today, so off with the robe and jacket and visited another old Scottish Borders tower which lies close to my route home. This one was built in 1581.
The tower as it would have been in its heyday, with some historical background.
Approaching Greenknowe Tower from the road.
Arrived at the Tower
The lintel above the entrance door, on which you can still make out the Laird's crest, and the date of building, 1581.
Step inside with me in the next post and let me be your guide.
