I really need to check my posts on here more often!!
The kilt pin from Kiltstore.com is a Highlanders (taken from the Gordons) officer's kilt pin. I got mine for US$60 from Bugpiper.net about 5 years ago. It's regiment-specific and wouldn't work for my UDR themed uniform. It's a fantastic pin, though!!
What I ended up doing... I found somebody in Australia on eBay offering a very spirally artistic version of a kilt/nappy pin. I sent him several pics, and about a month and US$45 later, I had my handmade, solid steel regimental pattern kilt pin! It's a little longer than the cheap craft shop versions, but perfect for my purposes.

Mark, if this is what you're looking for...

...try here and scroll down to the bottom of the page. If you need to know more, check in at the Kiltgoodies forum here at Xmarks and ask for Robin.
If that isn't what you were looking for, well, nevermind. . . :·|

Aye, that's it exactly, but I have my hand made Aussie one now! I think this traditional style is underappreciated.
Thanks again for all the responses!
