Out and about today a gentleman said "You must be from Prestonfield House." Telling him I wasn't and didn't know where that was he said "Everybody in Prestonfield House in Edinburgh wears a black kilt and a black tie." Looking up Pretsonfield House on yahoo search engine tonight I see it is a posh hotel so I suppose it was meant as a compliment.

I googled them as well. POSH seems an understatement. I'm sure it was meant as a compliment.

No doubt referring to the famous portrait of George IV on his visit to Edinburgh in the 1820s

Wow, now I'm glad I've been racing and riding bicycles seriously - I won't get that comment.

The week before last my wife and I went to a conference In Yakima WA on the motorcycle. I wore my Gordon from Bearkilts under my Tourmaster pants. After a short sight seeing ride we were parked in the Hotel entry (one of the perks for friendly motorcyclists) and I was getting out of my riding gear. As I stowed the riding gear in the saddlebags a white-haired Lady walked past us and got into her car just opposite us. I watched as she looked into each mirror and then frantically looked about the car as if she was missing something. After a few seconds she got out of her car and approached us. I expected her to say or ask something, but I was totally unprepared for:

"I was so busy looking at your Kilt that I just got into the wrong car!"

She proceeded to climb into the car parked right next to us and drove off!
