Difficult to write out phonetically but it must be pronounced with a Highland accent!

Gallic is difficult to work out the pronunciation from how it is written and there are spelling variants which actually produce the same sound.

Actually, as sgian is a feminine noun, it should be sgian dhubh - pronounced sort of like skiyun ghoo.

I have seen variant spellings sgian, sghian, sgean, sghean etc and now we find dubh is a feminine dhubh!
Small wonder we are confused
It's the same with Welsh, depending upon which part of Wales you are in...
