I've found that I have some sweaters (jumpers for the Queen's English speakers) that would go nice with a solid OD kilt, but I'm not sure about the foot wear. It would make a nice outfit for Sunday wear. What about just running around town. The pub setup might come across a bit intimidating - too much of a bad boy look. Hmm..it boggles the mind. It was much simpler in my jeans and T-shrt days.
Dress shoes for Formal, black lace up boots for most else, hiking boots for hiking.

Brown hiking boots, Black laceup motorcycle boots, Black or white New Balance sneakers, or Brown Bass lug sole lace up shoe depending on my mood and or the event.

It depends on where I am going. In the summer, I usually go with Sandals. In the winter or evening, I usually wear casual shoes or boots. I rarely wear sneakers with my kilt.

Catskill Mountain Moccasins
try looking at Catskill Mountain Mocassins..
i don't know how to do tags on this magic box..
i love wearing my Doc Martens with my kilts, 2 pair, one high almost knee..1940's 1942..
whatever..
and a just over the ankle pair, for dress, i have some side buckled shoes, they look a little retro, almost pirate, and just odd enough, yet dressy enough to jazz a kilt.
but summer sandles are comfy..
and converse high tops, look a little "martian", but for some reason, work..
i just don't care for ghillies..
that's why i like this place, everybody is different.
but really, look up the Catskill Mountain Mocassin site...save your pennys..

Doesn't matter much as long as the pair match one another. Don't want to walk around in a wingtip one foot and jogger on other foot!
OMG ! ! I just saw a banded crow!!! Red band on right leg/ White band on left leg ! ! !
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Black brogue style shoes (but not ghillie brogues) for work or other more formal occasion when kilt is worn with shirt and tie, or trainers with a kilt worn casually.
