    Hi everyone,

I appreciate all the advice and will try to get pics as soon as possible. Might take me a while though, as I wasn't carrying a camera and will have to await them being forwarded my way.

    Here's the quick run down:

Surprisingly, in spite of the fact the bride was Irish and the Groom Scottish, I was the one and only guest attired in a kilt. That was a real eye opener for my first official kilted outting. Bride's and Groom's fathers, Best man, Groomsmen, Ushers, even the ring bearer, - all in full PC's. Bridemaids, flower girls were even wearing tartan dresses. Tartan ribbons on the invites, and even a piper and chimney sweep at the cocktail reception, but other than myself and my fiance with her sash and her kids with sash/tartan ties, that was it. We were the lone holdouts in a sea of suits and ties.

As much as some of you may cringe, I did attend in the aformentioned attire. And all things considered, I feel it worked OK. I received numerous compliments from various people throughout the event, including the photographer who, mistaking me for a member of the wedding party, tried to call me over for the after photos.

My innitial approach was to go with the earlier advice to ditch the vest, but after several people commented that it looked quite sharp, I decided to go with it. My only regret, the black shirt (and probably the black hose as well) was probably not the best choice for a late sunny afternoon affair on a day that reached the mid 80F's. However, looking around I discovered that I was only one of many who was sweating it out in sunglasses trying to dodge the hot sun and the glare reflected off the water during the outdoor cocktail reception immediately after the nuptials.

I realize the full mask silver fox sporran was more formal than called for, but it sure looked striking against my somewhat rebellious black on black. It's an absolute work of art and I have to give a big thumbs up to Craigie and the beautiful black leather mystery braided belt she made to go with it.

Additionally, the seim-trad from Rocky held up wonderfully, and no matter how many times I buggered up the pleats getting up and down from the dinner table it bounced back suprisingly well.

About the only other thing worth mentioning was the after party at a local Irish pub which a bunch of us decided to attend (I switched into a t-shirt). It seems they were holding their annual Halloween costume contest so a bunch of guys in kilts barely recieved a passing glance. However, after a few drinks I just couldn't resist telling Little Bo Peep that while I couldn't help her out with the missing sheep, I would be more than happy to let her pet my fox
