Gillette Sensor Three and a canned gel foam with aloe or other exotic skin conditioners. Neck and high cheeks only of course....

I let the beard grow so that I didn't have to shave as often as well. I did go back to a goatee this summer, but the extra shaving bored me. I have been a Mach 3 (just the plain one, not the one that flippin' vibrates). I don't use shaving cream, but rather just some Irish Spring on my face after the shower.
One of these days I will find an old school barber and go for a straight blade shave (just to say I have done it).

In my experience, not at all. Perhaps when comparing a Mach 3 with a Bic safety razor, but in my opinion, the best razor's a straight razor. The trick is, you have to learn how to use the straight razor, and until you figure it out, it can be a bit of a pain.
I use an old straight razor gained off eBay, home made soap (no, I don't make the soap) and a boar hair brush. I'd like to move up to a badger hair brush eventually.
The one downside of the straight razor is sharpening it. Good Arkansas stone is getting harder to find and more expensive. I have a good stone, though it isn't Ark., so there are alternatives, but it takes a bit of looking.

Neutragina (sp?) shave lotion for men. It remeinds me of thin hand cream that makes your skin tingle. That coupled with a Gillette Mach something or other. (when shaving your scalp, you notice, or at least I, notice a big difference in the # of blades)
Nice, smooth shave with zero knicks and cuts. See results below. My wedding day actually.

two avenues of thought...
Hi folks!
I've two ways of approaching shaving: oil and soap.
Personally, I use a schick Mach 3, a shaving brush and natural soap (try the natural product range from "the perfect potion") - but that's because a $13 block of soap lasts this Uni student about 2 years... and you can't beat that for economy.
However, I have heard that using shaving oil provides a very close, smooth shave. It's argued that the oil allows the hair to soften far more than just soap and water. I forget the name of the most popular brand here in Australia, but it features a baby's face on a man's body... (curse my memory!!).
YMMV
cheers
