It takes some getting used to, but you can piece together some good designs.
I just wish it had more curves and arcs available.

Finished belt
I finished up the belt and the sporran strap today. Here are a couple of pics.
I learned some things about layout and connection of the buckle and hook that will be useful in the future. The spacing of the Fleur-de-Lys and the knotwork panels is a little off-centered.

I'm going to send the sporran to my son. Then start another one for myself.

I get depressed everytime I see such beautiful work. Why? Because I haven't the time nor equipment to get my skills to that level!
I absolutely love that Rampant Lion.
What weight leather is the back/flap on that sporran?

The front and back are just over 1/16th of an inch, so I think that makes it about 5 oz leather.
Thanks for the compliment. I wish I could put some up for sale, but I have to be careful over here. The German government is touchy about getting their taxes.
Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.

Sounds about right.

Governments and their taxes. I know the feeling, though. I have a business license, so I have to give up part of each sale I make. Then I have to report everything come tax time.

Nice work. It looks like you've laced the buckle in--I haven't seen that before. Put togther with the sprorran, the whole outfit looks good together.
Is that an Engineer castle on you belt buckle? I had orders to go to the 535 En Co (CSE) back in 1989, but ended up getting diverted to the 82nd En Bn in Bamberg. Great tour!
