Very nice, but then I am partial to the Gunn modern, its a very handsome tartan, my Gunn modern is from A&J Scott who became Alex Scott.
If the workmanship of my old kilt is any indication you have got yourself a kilt that will last you a lifetime, and then some, congratulations.

Well done Steve! Add the smell of leather from the belt and sporran to the smell of the wool and you just want to stand taller!
Wear it often and in good health.

Congratulations on your kilt! I remember how proud I felt when I got my first(and only).

I think this may be why the rear pleats show under the aprons in the photo above. As delivered, the kilt contains some 8yds 30ins of material, and weighs not far short of 4lbs.
When I lay my kilt down flat I can see the pleats underneath the front apron and my measurements are 30w/39s/25.5d. I think the extra length of the back of the kilt is to account for our backsides.

Thanks for all your kind comments, guys.
Today, (much to my wife's amazement) I've been wearing the kilt round the house - and only the kilt. No shirt, no socks, no anything else, just me and my kilt - rather like a Nac Mac Feegle in Terry Pratchett's books. It's *wonderfully* comfortable!
It's been so comfortable, I've been thinking hard about why the flip I wear uncomfortable trousers at weekends - and who might be a good maker for a first 'casual' kilt - Suggestions appreciated.
Did anyone say 'addiction?'
Best regards
