You want kilts at Falkirk?
How about at the memorial commemorating the Battle of Falkirk Muir, where Lord George Murray and Charles Edward Stewart defeated the English for the last time?
Just some pals that gathered there a couple years back, remembering a bit of history.

Lovely pics, McClef. The boat wheel is well worth a visit and the shorter boat trip which goes up the wheel and through Roughcastle Tunnel takes just an hour. The visitor centre is also quite interesting, but it can be difficult to find a seat in the cafe. There are a few views of the Falkirk Wheel in the Union Canal album on my website.

Alas I didn't have the opportunity to visit the Wheel on this occasion Alex, only getting a brief glimpse of it from the train.
When I go up with my own transport later this year it's definitely on my list.

Perhaps the best way to see the wheel is by narrowboat. 'Tis how i wish to retire but since I've discovered kilts retirement seems further away!
