That sounds encouraging. I suspect it's my mother who will be my biggest discouragement, although my ex-wife would be, too, if we were still together. However, my mother is very fond of her ancestry so that's why I chose a MacGregor tartan for kilt #2 (though she doesn't even know about the first one, yet).

Sounds like your Mom might be coming around already. I think we all know someone who is less-than-supportive or down-right discouraging about our apparel choices. Who asked 'em?

I am in a similar situation. I am from a down in the hills old country family. I haven't told anyone in my family about my kilt yet. To be honest, my father would probably almost disown me. My mother would be the most understanding. My biggest worry isn't what they would say, but what the think. I could care less what most people think. They are my family, and I do care.

It sounds like you are doing well in this movement. I believe your Mom, like mine, will become proud to see her son in a kilt, especially in public. Good luck.
