As one of the "kilts and jeans" guys, one thing I did notice this past weekend as hot as it was how strange it felt to have sweat roll all the way down my legs to my kilt hose. With Levi's it just get's absorbed at the nearest contact point of skin and fabric. A slight bit of a breeze on wet skin is almost a chilling effect.

I wore my pants back on Sunday, and yeah... At Taco Bell I went to sit down and swept the pants.

I'm another one of the sweepers... Find myself doing it even if I'm wearing a pair of Levi's 560's.

It seems like you're far more comfortable in a kilt, and I say good for you.
Sorry about you having to wash your kilt hose.
I'm lucky, even the ones my fiance knitted for me are knitted from pre-shrunk wool so that I can just wash them with everything else.
Maybe a gentle wash like MrBill suggested?

At a recent wedding, I found myself trying to sweep my pants. I don't usually wear a kilt outside of the house - mostly because either I'm going to work, or riding my bike - but I always wear it around when my girlfriend is over. I think that since she was with me at the wedding, it triggered something that caused the sweep. I mentioned it to her and she said she noticed. She kept having to stifle a laugh everytime I went to sit.
