Well said, Trefor, though I have to say I've been to Cardiff several times and yet to see a kilt there, but I always see at least a few guys out and about in kilts when I'm in Edinburgh.

Personally, it amazes me just how many men manage to get this very basic detail wrong... perhaps kiltmakers should apply a small courtesy label in the back of every kilt that says... "Pleats to the Back" - or something equally simple to understand. Heck... make it removeable for the enlightened.

    Blu:

Like the infamous Claymore (mine), which is emblazoned, "Front towards enemy"! When all else fails, read the instructions!

I have seen this a few times, I just can't understand how one does it.

I think I will try one day to see if I can even put a kilt on backwards.

The day of my twin brothers wedding we had an argument over this very issue, as best man I said "no the pleats go in the back." However the groom was under the impression that they were for the front, ah well thankfully I won that argument.
