I went up to London on Saturday (St. Patrick's Day) but you would not have known that it was other than just an ordinary day - I saw nothing there that told the world that it was St. Paddy's day.
When I was in London on Tuesday I saw advertisements and road closure notices for a big St. Patrick's Day parade in London to be held today (Sunday). Looking at X-markers St. Pats pics tonight from all over the world, I'm wondering whether any of our English members made it to the parade in London.

Yes Alex, I did hear a brief mention of that parade on the Sunday morning radio news, but I saw nothing about it whilst in London the previous day. I suppose it was held on the day following St Patrick's Day because it was less likely to cause even worse traffic chaos on a Sunday! Admittedly, I did not go into the West End (Central zones) of London except for passing beneath it on the Underground, but I'd still have expected to have seen some folks somewhere a wearin' o' The Green, being inebriated, or at least sporting springs of Shamrock in their buttonholes!

    Hamish - a question

I have time these days only to Lucky Dip our threads.
What does "Lucky Dip" mean? An ignorant American - as is often the case, I'm afraid.
