First: Great pictures, makes me miss being there (not Grafenwoehr or Vilseck, but the Mainz area)
Second: I doubt they're pushing Six-Sigma down to the platoon level, but if they are I've not seen or heard anything about it, or even know what it is.

Splash, you are much further into it than I am, but I'm not ready to give up on it completely yet. I think it has potential for organizations that use repetitive processes to get work done. Unfortunately, the rapid turnover in leadership in the Army (probably other services also) makes it difficult to have continuity with programs. The only thing that doesn't seem to change rapidly is the Army Regulations.
I work on the Base Operations side, not with troops, so I don't know if it is being pushed there as well.
I thought some of you might find the pictures of Garmish interesting. It's getting expensive though. Depends on your rank, but for me, Director of Public Works, it was $127 per night, and breakfast was almost $8. Families with kids get somewhat of a break, but not alot.

The pictures are stunning and I wish I had been stuffed in your suitcase. But at those prices, there would have to be six of us in the room!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
