I especially liked Alison Krauss doing Molly Ban. Although it is a tragic song, her performance is hauntingly beautiful.
About Earl Scruggs, he is credited with developing his own unique method of banjo playing, that was later adopted by other artists. Interestingly enough, he developed this style because he couldn't master the accepted style of the time.
If you like Alison Krauss's version of "Molly Ban", the Dillards, who are best remembered as the Darlings on The Andy Griffith Show, do a variant entitled "Polly Vaughn" on their album "There is a Time".
