Maybe there should be a time limit on how long they are held.

This is another one of those times when you are not able to see the contents of my PM Inbox, so you are unable to see that I get messages on a daily basis, asking how this function works or how that function works. This forum has a boatload of robust features that most members have yet to discover, so the staff members are faced with trying to explain those features again and again. Which is why we will often post tutorial threads and stick them so members can easily find them.
I may have a work-around for this one, let me play with it and see what falls out.

I'm not opposed to tutoral stickies, I agree they are a must. My point is is that the "show your pictures" stickies are also a tutorial but in picture form. I do not agree with putting a time limit on them, however (unless oatmeal hose end up like polyester leisure suits).

No that I ever expected it to, in the first place. Did you notice the question in the Tech Questions forum, asking why the unread forum markers were appearing everywhere? Did you also notice that a grand total of 78 people have taken the time to read the explanation I posted in Forum News?
OK, the Formal, Dressy, Casual and Box-Pleated kilt threads get top billing in the Show Us your Pics forum. Even though they are no longer stickies, they are always going to be at the top of the stack.
When you visit the Pictures forum, look at the Announcement, at the very top of the forumdisplay page. If you open that announcement, you will find links to each one of the four threads.
Yes, yes, I know, this is going to require an entire extra click to get to those threads and then <GASP>, the threads are going to open in a new tab, which will also require a click to close. If this presents too great an obstacle, please be patient and wait for the Web 5.0 version of the forum software, with its holographic menu controls.
