Gotta be the weathered Gordon in my avitar thingie from The Celtic Croft. Wound up in their sale section somehow and was just my size. Love it.

That is, other than the "free" shirts, hose, Skien Dubh I've received for birthday and holiday gifts from loved ones who humor my kilt addiction.

Mine, so far, is the kilt I'm wearing in my avatar. I got it on ebay from David Pope (Thanks, David) for $144. 13 oz House of Edgar Drummond of Perth rare and ancient tartan sewn by Geoffrey (Tailor). Fits great and is 25" long.

My latest and greatest would be this little number I picked up on eBay for CAN $45 including shipping:

Seller said it was a polyviscose Pride of Scotland. It doesn't feel like any of my other PV kilts. PV feels real luscious to my hand, even nicer than a soft wool. This kilt feels like a rustic tablecloth type material, perfectly comfortable to wear, but a stark contrast to PV. I guess its a cotton blend. As to its tartan, the jury is still out. The colours are similar to POS, but what's with the double white line?

The label says that Heritage of Scotland produced it, that it was "designed in Scotland", declares it to be an "authentic woven tartan" and claims that it will fit "age 11-12".

It fits me as well as any of my custom made kilts and the workmanship is near level with a USAK. Best of all, I have an Italian made wool driving cap in a purple that exactly matches that of the kilt. Not bad for under fifty Canuck bucks!
    I've kilt for less.

    Nancyman,

The Heritage of Scotland website calls the tartan of your new kilt the Heritage of Scotland tartan. See it here:

I know this may sound silly with all this talk of wool kilts, but in the summer sometimes I feel like my Sport Kilt is a blessing just because it's so light weight and comfy ... lol.

Also, I purchased the phillabeg from the Celtic Croft, and it's light weight feels good too.

I'm waiting on 4 meters of the 11-oz Douglas from F&K at $6 CDN a meter. If it's anywhere near what I expect, THAT will be a bargain.

    Awesome Deal

After I joined the Krewe of Shamrock's and started wearing my first kilt (sport kilt leatherneck) I was talking about joining the Egypt Shriners Highlander Pipe and Drum Band. A past Potentate of Egypt Shrine told me he had everything I needed to be a member. So one night after a meeting we meet. He brought me:

    1) three pairs of hoses, 1 Black and 2 Ivory
    2) one pair of half socks, (pipers)
    3) two pairs of flashes, 1 red and 1 MacQueen
    4) one pair of spats, White
    5) sgian dubn
    6) Leather black belt and Buckle (St. Andrew's)
    7) Dirk
    8) Three sporrans, 1 leather day, 1 fur formal and 1 long horse hair military
    9) A Heavey 100% wool 16oz.military pleated MacQueen Kilt from J.Higgins (value $575)
    10) three uniform shirts w/patches
    11) two pairs of Red shoulder boards
    12) one Red neck scarf
    13) one Argyle Black Jacket
    14) one Glengarry Black
    and
    15) a set of Shepard Pipes w/case, hardly used with books, chanter everything I need (pipes value $850-$1,000.00)

Most of the stuff was purchased from J. Higgins, Ltd.
I think that covers everything I got. I paid a grand total of $600.00...
    Please don't HATE me!!!

    John
