Greetings from Devon
Hi from glorious Devon, UK.
I couldn't sleep much last night, and at about 3.30 am I decided to do a bit of surfing. Glad I did as I found this forum!
My kilt wearing activities actually only started a few months ago, but I now wish I'd adopted them much sooner in life. I've no ancestry that I know of to give me a reason for donning a kilt. I just enjoy their comfort for outdoor activities like hiking.
A few years ago I started to learn the accordion (I'm already a keyboard player of some 50 odd years). So now the kilt goes well with my attempts at Scottish reels and jigs when I entertain friends. I always felt something was missing!
Living within earshot of the practice location for the North Devon Pipers, yesterday evening I was sat in my back garden with a chilled can of beer listening to their great music wafting across the fields to me. Who needs CDs when you have the real thing on your doorstep!
An introductory photo was posted last night, taken during a ramble up in Wales a few weeks back. I hope to post more photos showing some of the fantastic scenery hereabouts - great kilt wearing country, yet so far I seem to be the only guy bold enough to sport one. What people think I've no idea - or much care for that matter . Maybe it'll start a trend here in Devon.
