    Considering some of the official tartans out there that do get made into kilts, that fabric is absolutely subdued.

    I would agree that it's not flashy as the colors are very subdued.

    I don't think I would call it tartan though. Not sure what I'd call it as the double lines are common to tartan patterns but the "box" pattern is very patch or quilt like.

    Bottom line, I'd be interested to see it pleated up. I like the deep colors. I'd imagine it would have a more contemporary look.
