The Sport Kilt (Nova Scotia) is a new one for them and it is real close to the one I just got that Riverkilt sent to Jim in Germany see:

It is great to see him wearing a kilt. But, I've gotta agree with Beloitpiper, it's not fitting him quite right... looks a little frumpy. And, the color is pretty loud to be paired with the uniform top. Good on him for the guts to wear it though.

May I show some ignorance here? I'm fairly new to the kilted scene, but when you say the apron is small do you mean that it doesn't cover enough of the front? If that is the case, how much should it really cover?
Thanks!

I should be wider, preferrably wider than the legs, so it wraps around just a bit.

Best Dressed
Narrow apron or not, he gets my vote for "best dressed in the photo."
This brings up something I've been meaning to say. I went to our local Highland Games a few weeks ago, and my wife commented to me that she thought I was among the best-dressed there. There were a few other good looking outfits (and some well-dressed pipe bands), but there were also a lot of poor-fitting kilts and a few that were on the verge of doing the kilt an injustice.
So . . . I just want to say thanks to this fine group called XMarks for helping me figure out how to look good (and consequently project the right measure of confidence) while wearing a kilt in public. Perhaps the security guard in this thread's photo will stumble upon this group and garner the same benefit.

p.s. While at the games, my wife says, "Hey look honey, nobody's staring at you!"

I get that same comment from my wife.
And I have to agree with others in suggesting that a better choice would have been something more subdued, or a solid black. "Matching" and "complimenting" are not the same thing, and sometimes an outfit does neither.

Yes the apron is somewhat on the narrow side and pity you can't see more of the mountain in the background.

I particularly like that he is kilted while in his official position. I think this lends great publicity and credibility to our cause, and I hope he logs in to see this. We're with you, brother!
