Have worn my Utilikilts Workmans to Tractor Supply and Home Depot - received nothing but positive comments. The guys at Tractor Supply wanted to know if it was a Carhart kilt!

Hey watch it! No badmouthing of Southern states allowed.

Unless you were born here. Like me.

We do have a fine collection of in-bred, backward a$$ country folks and they might give you a strange look now and again. On the other hand, most of them look strange all the time so who would notice?

Besides I've met plenty of redneck bumpkins from north of the Mason-Dixon line.

I think he was refereing to the Southern States Supply chain of stores, of which we don't have any in Alabama that I know of. We DO have Tractor's Supply which is where I went to get my external diesel tank for my truck, while wearing a kilt. You don't get much ribbing when you're buying stuff for heavy machinery (or when you qualify as heavy machinery; 6'1" 265lbs).

I wasn't born... I was pieced together out of factory seconds.

We have a collection like that around here... it's called: insert favorite state name here

Oh, you've met my ex-wife's family?

    1. been there...done that... the kilt was no big deal... of course they were probably wondering if I was planning on working on my car kilted of if was I was going to put pants on...

    2. I do that all the time.. the employees don't seem to notice (except this one cashier who stares and smiles a lot).. I have made a couple customers run their carts into the shelves.. ahhhh good times

    3. I try to avoid that place... but have gone in kilted... time sort of stopped when I walked in the door...

    4. those are always fun.. recently I was at Ryan's steak house and one lady almost dropped her plate of food when she saw my kilt

    5. haven't done that one... but have gone kilted to Home Depot and Lowe's... the employee's a Lowe's knew that my UK was in fact a kilt..and several commented on how they liked it..

I have to agree. I live in Alaska, and we have our fair share of " backward a$$ country folks" too.

    1. Advanced Auto Parts -well Kragen and Pep Boys

    2. Food Lion -Is that like 7/11 ?

    3. Dollar General Store -does WalMart count?

    4. The Olive Garden, Red Lobster, or TGI Friday's. All three!

    5. Tractor Supply Store or Southern States. Many southern states, and Farm Union should count, or Orchard Supply?

It's not usually the "manly" men that have problems with the kilt. It's the insecure homophobes who have to try and boost their self-esteem by lowering yours. Most of the time when I go to home depot, napa, grainger, etc. I get nothing but good comments on how I have the to wear a kilt.
