I doubt it, they are probably property of one of the museums or more likely part of the collection at Windsor Castle since he was the Queen's Uncle.

He was the king, but he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson a divorcee, then his brother, the present queens father, became king.
Wallis Simpson was American and I believe they lived in France, so his things could be anywhere.

Can anyone ID the tartan of the kilt that's pictured with the houndstooth jacket? The color photo on the mannequin, that is. I really like that tartan.

I personally love the houndstooth jacket and waistcoat with the kilt. Mixing patterns with tartan is a very traditional thing to do in Scotland, and I suppose in the UK at large, though I know here in America people tend to shy away from it. However, done with care and an eye for what tones well, I think it presents a very sharp and authentic look.
Notice in a few things -- first, no belt with the waistcoat. Second, in the last picture, look where his kilt pin is positioned.

These were out of an auction catalogue, several of the Duke's suits were being auctioned off.
Matt, I noticed the same thing about the kilt pin. It's in the same position in the first picture, I wonder if they used the old photo for a reference or if it's been pinned there for seventy odd years?

The Duke of Windsor was meticulous about his clothing and appearance, an inpeccable dresser and was one of the most stylish men of his time.
I like the houndstooth check with the tartan, but we really do need to have a talk with him about the proper way to tie his ghilles.

He was probably like many of us and hated the blasted things!

Yes, the kilt pin was something I noticed too. Why do you suppose it's worn so high was it a fashion of the day?
