If you have time, get everyone in kilt. Of what-ever tartan they like. The photos then really look great!
With enough time and a little planning, and by using the advertisers here, it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg!

I think it will look odd only because you will appear to be so formally dressed. Tuxedos just do not offer the same level of formality in my opinion.
I they are not comfortable enough in a kilt, then perhaps they'd be more comfortable sitting down

All the men in the wedding party should dress the same. You can use accents to differentiate the groom from the others, but if you wear a kilt, so should they, just as they should also wear tails if you do. A VERY common mistake is to have the groom in tails while the other men are only wearing dinner jackets.

My mate hired kilts for all his ushers etc at his wedding in Kidderminster. All the lads got really into it. The 4 guys 2 at either end, were all first time kiltwearers

I think it is funny that she is concerned with the other guys, since it seems to be that brides in general try and put the brides' maids in ugly dresses that they all complain about (till it is their turn to be a bride). On the other hand, my wife's only issue was that the guys were going to look better than the girls. We were still going with kilts until it became too big of an obstacle getting all the guys in kilts (this was over 10 years ago - it's much easier now).

I am going to agree with most the comments already said. I think if you can get everyone in a kilt, it'll make for much nicer pictures, plus everyone will love it. But if you are the only one in a kilt, i think that's ok too. It's your day, not the groomsmen or the bridesmaids, nobody should really care if they are comfortable or not. Here are 2 pictures from my brother's wedding. One of just him, and one picture as a group.

It's kind of hard to see everything in this picture but it was a great time nonetheless.

Definitely, all of the men in the wedding party should be kilted! It will look best that way.

I's suggest Stillwater Thrifty for the guys - if they agree to wear them (Inexpensive, but looks good, delivery within days) . Otherwise, them in Tux, you in Kilt (Matching Fly Plaid if Possible; looks really smart, Stillwater has'em). Congratulations, by the way.

The next question is should the tartans match? Mine will be different, as I doubt most rental places have it, but what about everyone else?
I'm a well rounded guy - English motorcycles, Irish brew, and Scottish clothes and music.

They are all from different families, so let them wear what they want..... I think it looks better and more natural anyway!
