So buying a 100-150 dollar kilt is about as much as i'll be willing to "splurge". It's going to be great to not have to worry about debt collectors anymore though.
I'd like to think that i've learned a wee bit about being responsible over the years. I know i've still got a long way to go, but hey you got to start somewhere, right?
Nothing wrong with that. Just going by the limited numbers you gave in your first post, I understood you to have far more than $150 left after all of the taxes and overdue debt. Didn't realize you were going to be "wiped out" after that was paid... If that's the case, I'd suggest USA Kilts for a good kilt in that range.

You're a smart man, Ayin. Pay off the debt. You can always save for a kilt. Congratulations!

I'd second that...with all due respect to some of our favorite vendors who give us some really nice stuff for very reasonable prices, I'd suggest that you think about soem "deferred gratification" and sock it away for The Big One. That or remember that another C-note puts you in USAK semi-trad PV territory...and that ain't too shabby, either.

A hand sewn 16 oz kilt in your favorite tartan....waiting for you....hear it calling to you?
Admire your discipline....

Ayin, my most dearest and oldest buddy, pal of mine! Join the millions who have learned the joy that comes from giving!
A nice donation to the "Help Stan Get More Kilts" fund would be a most worthy cause.
er, hello? ...Pal?... Buddy?... Mr. Mc Fye?....Sir? Heh! Heh! (Where'd everybody GO????)

I have to agree with what others have said, now I am not sure if you own an 8 yard 16oz kilt made from Locharron wool, but let me tell you if really want to spoil yourself nothing else even comes close, and when you are done you have a kilt that will last you a lifetime. To quote from my Kilt Passport:
Your Kilt is the heirloom of Tomorrow. If cared for properly, it will last for two or more generations.
Something to think about.
Or if you wish you could put it towards a nice 4 yard box pleat from Matt Newsome, as I know it tends to get a wee bit warm around your area.

Trust me I would want nothing more than to buy the Mercedes of Kilts for myself. Kilts are addicting and I know that I could wait for Tax returns, but my tax return should be nice on it's own that I won't have to worry about the $150 I spend right now. When February rolls around I'll most definitely be getting everyone's opinions on their nicest kilt they own and how much and from who. Don't worry about answering that question right now, we'll talk more about it later.
Ozman: if you come to ARizona for one of our kilt nights i'll buy you some pints.
Arizona Scot: Thanks for the welcome back, I was going through withdrawals.

Remember any debt paid is like investing at double the interest. A credit card debt of 17% paid off is like a saving with a 34% return. There's more than just debts free in debt freedom.
Not that I'm there yet, but targeting next November.
