As for screech, well, you can get that at the LCBO here. And I do. Do I ever. Good on it's own to clear the sinuses or with coke and orange peel.
Aye, but you really should get to NL at some point to get "Screeched" properly. It's worth the trip to St. Johns....just go when it's warm and the winds are mild.
(You know there are really four seasons in Newfoundland: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.)

Warm and mild wind? Bah! If I'm going to the Rock, I want Newfoundland weather! But then, I'm totally insane when it comes to weather.
Will get out there eventually. One day I hope to take a big, long drive across the country and hit every province/territory.

T.
I bought a bottle yesterday (for my brother in law).
Newfies are a great bunch. Some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. I have a new local restaurant that is based on Eastern Canada. On the first Saturday of every month they do a screech in. Basically you kiss a Cod, have a drink of screech, and bam! you're an honorary Newfie!
I think the December screech in would be a fun kilt night.

And in case you have too much screech, and can't remember that you did it, they give you a certificate to prove your new status. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I'm not from NFLD, but I live on the east coast on another island.....Prince Edward.
Newfs are awesome! I highly recommend visiting St.Johns if the chance ever comes up.

We consider you to be a Newfie cloves, because you're so awsome.

For the canadian members, do you guys consider Newfoundland, your redneck/backwards province, like many in the US consider states like West Virginia and Arkansas? I have heard it a few times from relatives that live in Canada. Just curious on your thoughts.

Not at all. That would be Alberta...........sorry guys!! .You have to remember that we also have Quebec which has a different lanquage as well as a different way of doing things. Newfies are a unique culture like the Quebecois are unique. However they are all still Canadians (whether they like it or not).
Because each province is so big (how many states could we fit into Ontario alone?) you find that it is measure in cities more than in Provinces. At least here in BC, but we get easily forgotten by being on the other side of the Rockies. Each Provinces has their own way of doing things and each is unique in their own way.
They're all great though.

One Canadian girl I met years ago seemed to have an inexhaustible number of Newfie jokes--they just about mirrored the Polish jokes that used to be common before Political Correctness sensitivities banished the lot.
