    Quite a few, all good. One lady asked me to back up (she was sitting behind a table) so she could see my knees. People kept telling me that someone else was wearing a kilt. I kept my eyes open but never saw him.

    Not bad! You might think about a dress sporran if you're going to do many formal events. I got a very nice one from Frugal Corner at a good price.

    Otherwise, I'd say you pulled it off very well.

    Looks great, who says a SWK can't be worn as formal wear----you might consider a more formal sporran next time, but otherwise..........excellent!!!!

    I may be totally wrong, but I don't see myself doing enough formal events to warrant putting a bunch of money into a formal outfit. That's why I decided to go with a modified Eton jacket to begin with. I will buy a dress sporran at some point, but it's way down on the list, below a new kilt in MacPherson red, and a brown day sporran from WhatPriceGlory.

    Good job man! I'll be doing something similar very soon.

    Thanks for showing me that it can be done with style!

    I was just thinking about what I actually have invested in that kit...

    Kilt = $30.00
    Shirt = $18.00
    Jacket = $56.00 (plus R_R_S' priceless labor/advice modifying it)
    Tie = $5.00
    Hose = $12.00
    Flashes = free
    Shoes = $35.00
    Sporran = $22.50
    Belt = $22.50
    Kilt Pin = $5.75
    Sporran belt = $14.95

    Total = $221.70

    This was all purchased over basically 4 months as I could afford it.

    You've done extremely well to get such a great looking rig with that amount of moolah. On the good looks per $ scale, I'd say you can't beat that outfit. Very well done!
