I was going to offer Alma College and Michigan State University, but Matt beat me to it!
Good luck on your goal of a tartan for your school!

I have talked to our admin about a college tartan. Some serious thought going into it. It will be interesting to see how yours turns out. (I have designed three options.)

Hey man, good luck. I am trying to do the same thing with the University of Michigan, and they basically just told me they weren't interested.
Right now I am trying to get a petition together of UM students, alums, and faculty who want a tartan. If you are a student, alum, or faculty member (or know one), please sign (direct them to) this petition.
I designed a tartan on a whim, and this is what it looks like, if you're curious. Actually, I will make a new thread about it.
Thanks,
Matt!

I went to William & Mary and never heard nor saw the tartan. I haven't found mention of it on the College's website either. I just see the copyrighted version found by the Tartan Ferret. I hope this isn't another Maine Tartan thing where a person decides to boggart the tartan for no good reason. Then again, wouldn't only the College have the rights to the name? It's not like it's a last name...
Anyway, hopefully soon there'll be a better looking, better known and more readily available tartan for our use. The first president of the college, James Blair, was a Scot after all!

The College of Wooster, in Wooster, Ohio uses the MacLeod as its tartan. It also offers a bag pipe major and has a marching pipe band.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

This link goes to an article about how/why the UT tartan was designed and is a pretty good view of the tartan. https://my.tennessee.edu/pls/portal/...-MAY-15-04.PDF
