Color me jealous. The only thing on my Christmas list this year was a weathered Lamont from SWK. I'm going to the inlaws place on Friday for Christmas. Dad's a huge gift giver- so here's hoping that I'll be able to join you in the "Look at my new Christmas kilt!!" celebratory thread. I'm planning to use part of my tax return to get myself a black UK original. I didn't like them at first, but the more I see them, the more I like them. Your grandparents need a big hug- and not just for the UK. It's because you can and some of us can't. Merry Christmas, man!!

I am really thrilled with it, sept when I came back into the room with it on my grandmother said, oh wow, look at that blouse thing. Now, she is 90 and has some slight memory issues, but my dad (her son) actually said, no, thats a kilt. it was pretty cool. I am very thrilled with the look and the fit. kilt on the hips is not too bad.
I am going to post some pics on the first post in the thread for every one to see.
Oh yeah, does anyone know anything about lead soldiers figures? My grandfather is getting to the age where he is passing on his stuff that he wants to have kept in the family. he gave me about 85 figures all in original unopen packages and they are all made by Metal Moulders Brittons.

CWR89, glad your order worked out for you. Looks like a good fit.
SDS, The black denim is a good choice, it's heavier than the original, but not as flashy (or expensive) as the black workman. They can be hard to find in stock, though.
Best regards,
Jake

Nice! I got one myself today, which I wore around most of the morning before changing into my Royal Stewart for a dressier look for dinner. I love mine!

The tan UK original is a very versitile kilt. You can, of course, wear it for knocking around and hiking.
You can also add a necktie (gag!) and/or a sweater and head for the office. Or add a tartan shirt for a Scottish look in a solid color kilt.
Enjoy the versatility.
