That's a beautiful razor.
I shave with a straight razor sometimes and it gives a wonderful, close shave.
They do take a bit of practice, but I think you will love it.

my barber has a collection of old straight razors and other antique barber equipment, amazing stuff.

I learned to shave on one of those. It's not hard at all. You hold the blade almost at 90 degrees to the face. If the razor is sharp, you can get the closest shave in the world. I don't use my two anymore, but you'd have to beat me up to get them from me.
Nice purchase!

Very cool, I like it! I've always wanted to try one of those. I use an old Gilette adjustable myself. I only wish I could trust myself around my throat with ane of those. Love the piper!

Wow what a great find, it is a beautiful piece of work, my dad shaved with those while I was growing up but I've never had the nerve to try.

Thats a nice razor. Though I'm not really surprised with all the other forums out there, I would have never thought of a straight razor forum existing.

Gorgeous!!! The detailing on the blade is fantastic, and the scales are nice, too.

Very nice acquisition, Mike. Now, Have you nominated a successor as second in command and has he been well trained to take over. Of course, we would miss you in the "unlikely event" of anything "Bad" happening to you, but the forum must go on.

I hear that you can practice on a balloon. If you don't pop it, you are ready for your face. Balloons are expendible, your face isn't.
