Haha, sounds like my college is a wee bit more liberal than yours. I won't have to worry about people sneaking in girls as all the dorms are co-ed by room and swearing isn't really an issue.

My wife was one for 3 of the 4 years she was at college and it was a tough job.
Imagine basically having say, 2 girls and 2 guys being in charge of 44 girls and guys most of whom are 18 year old college kids desperately looking for every way possible to get into trouble without actually getting in trouble for it.

I supervised a mess of techno-RA's in my last job. It's a good position for a really sensible, stable student, but it can be a LOAD of stress on the bad days!

I was an RA at a very small dorm at Linfield College.
Was a good experience overall, and it paid for my "room" expenses for that year.
Also had a paid-for telephone in my room then (in the days before computers in rooms).
You'll do well as an RA.... best of luck in that interview, keep us posted.

What's WAY better than being a RA (aside from the extra spending money RA's get) is to be the FRIEND of the RA. I got away with all sorts of stuff in college with my RA friend. For example, "borrowing" a gallon of liquid nitrogen from the engineering department one night and dumping it off the 6th floor balcony all at once onto the (empty) quad below....wildest thing you ever saw and a very bizarre noise when it struck the cement. Also it formed a perfectly cylindrical cloud which slowly sank to the ground.
Or, for example, rappelling very rapidly off the RA's 6th floor balcony, past the 4th floor RA's apartment...giving her a minor heart attack (hehehe). Now, he did get shouted at a wee bit by the 4th floor RA later, but no one got in any trouble.
Ahhh....the college life. Good times, good times.
That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history.
