Also alone. I guess women like a man in a kilt, they just don't want to get to know him.

Quiet day for Mrs. Kilt and me. Took her out for supper, got her a card and some incredible cookies, that's about it.

Mrs McGurk and I went out to a Punjab restauraunt, the same one we went to 4 years ago on our very first valentines day, Also, just like 4 years ago, we went to the theater afterwards to see a musical, this time it was to see Cats.
I bought her a necklace in white gold and pink sapphire which matches her wedding ring, I also presented her with a Bouqette of red roses, to which I added a single yellow rose. I would have got a dozen yellow roses, for their meaning, but seeing as Valentines is largely a commercial creation these days, I went with the more commonly recognized red roses.
People I was telling what I was up to said 'Aww, its nice to see romance isnt dead.' Well, its very nearly dead, considering EVERYONE other then the florest needed the yellow rose explained to them.

It was OK, just another day for me.

I helped cook for 76 people I am dead-dog tired. One guy wanted his tuna sushimi well done. So he got it well done. He raved about it. Said it was the best he had ever had. I am thinking to myself "Dude, I just made you burnt fish."

I only got one Valentine from my niece. Here it is:
When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.
When you are confused -- I will use little words.
When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ***.
This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend".
Friendship is like peeing your pants,
everyone can see it,
But only you can feel the true warmth.

What did I do?
I woke up to a phone call from my Yeti, like every day.
I went to class like every day, then I went about life as usual, talking to my dear Yeti online, ignoring homework, goofing off on the internet while I knit, spinning some more pretty yarn.
Then I went to dinner and after that I had a long therapy talk with a friend in need, now he's calling me mama and expects chocolate and tea every time he comes to visit.
Then I spent the rest of my evening talking to my Yeti and fell asleep, because even though we can't be in the same place very often I still start and finish my day with his Voice in my ears.

Unfortunately mine was rubbish.
I got Diane a new hard drive for her laptop, a bunch of flowers that came in a fancy teacup and saucer and a basket full of chocolate. (I thought it would be a few bars, it will actually last her about a year.)
I have been really, really sick the last few days. I took the day off work to rest but my neighbour played loud techno music all day so that I couldn't sleep.
Because of the time difference I didn't get to talk to Diane until about 5.30 am my time on the 15th.
We were both so exhausted and stressed out that we ended up arguing.
On the good side, I got to sleep all day today and I am feeling a little bit better. Diane and I have made things up and I am still very much in love with her.
And everything will be O.K.

I got my first kilt on Wednesday, just in time for Valentine's Day.
It was a great Valentine's Day. I came home from work and made dinner for my wife. My wife made brownies earlier in the day, and we just hung out.
It was our 15th Valentine's Day together; the best one yet!
