WOW! You look GREAT! I am also not usually a white jacket fan, but you have pulled it off flawlessly! The red kilt and fly plaid look really nice with the white jacket. ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
I will also toss in my "vote" for new sporran and shoes.

I'll echo the others - dress sporran and dressier shoes.
p.s. Don't wear your plumed hat.

Looks Great ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
You have the build to pull off the White Jacket with both the braid and fly plaid.
I do agree that a dressier sporran slightly higher would be an improvement. On the footwear department. I think that a buckle brogue, or trying coloured hose with the dress shoes would snap the kit right up. ( I am not a fan of white hose with any formal occasion. BTW)

- You might guess I don't like the plaid. I think the outfit would look much better without it as it's not that formal.
- I agree that a dress sporran would be a better choice. With the military feel of the jacket you could wear a hair sporran if you like. I think it would go.
- Normally I like off white hose, even with a white shirt, but the white jacket makes them look out of place. I think I would consider a pair of coloured hose.
- As mentioned I think ghillies would be a good choice.
You have the start of a a very smart outfit there. Good Luck.

Another really nit-picking comment is the color of your hose. With a real white Jacket the Cream hose seem out of place or perhaps just off to my eye.
I would try to find some dark red hose similar to a color in the kilt. I would then also find a handkerchief or bow tie in the same color.
For a truly formal event an alternative to a waistcoat is a cummerbund. Worn without belt.
Unless the braid is part of a uniform I would leave it off.

What Chef said, with the exception of the ghillie brogues which I don't think would work as well as the simple black dress shoes.

Another vote against the plaid, especially since the jacket appears to be a military "mess jacket".
Does a cummerbund go with this particular jacket?

First, I love a white jacket.
Try a white vest?
Second, I would recommend that all hardware be either silver or gold, don't mix.
I would also try white popcorn socks. What's a little more white? Most here don't and I expect they will pipe in here

I agree with Chef, except for the Ghillies and hair sporran. When you are able to upgrade the sporran, consider an all-leather dress sporran like this:

I agree with McMurdo, A dress Sporran would look great and a waistcoat, minus the belt would help with the coat looking too long.
