You know, I kinda like glasses. I look weird without them.

I've toyed with the idea myself, but have always been afraid of having my eyes "messed with". Hearing these comments I may look into it next time I get them checked (last time I had them checked my vision had actually gotten better & they reduced me to a "baby prescription" as they called it).
Best of luck with the new eyes McGrath!

Had LASIK four years ago, and I haven't looked back. It's a great feeling to wake up in the morning and not have to reach for the glasses to read the alarm clock.
Glad to hear things are going well.

I've lived with glasses for 52 years. Well, except for that one year I tried contacts. I asked about Lasik a year or two ago and was told that with my vision it just wasn't a good bet. So, here I sit, with glasses.
I must admit, I wasn't sure what this thread was going to be about when I first read it earlier. My 6 year old grandson truely had face altering surgery when he was 6 months old and then again when a year old. He was born with a cleft pallette. He's an amazing kid with absolutly no fear. No fear in what he does physically or in having fun. Heck, at 1 year old he was flirting with the beautiful nurse and she was falling for it
Any way, congrats on getting better vision.

I wish you all the best, and your recovery will be in my prayers. I know that you are already happy with the surgery, so just get well soon.

Me, too. And at my age, I guess my eyes look funny when I don't wear them.
But I'm very glad to see that he likes it.

Awesome! I'm sooo jealous. I've wore glasses since I was roughly a year old. The Lasik surgery is awesome but unfortunately I can't have the surgery because of my eye condition. *sigh* But on the other hand, I must admit, I'm not really all that saddened. I'm used to the glasses now and they are more hip and chick these days.

I had my LASIK in December. Smooth and flawles. I went from -5.50 diopters with lots of astigmatisme to (so far) 20/20 three months post-op. Loving it a lot. And I can wear cool sunglasses!
