Here's wishing your buddy a swift and full recovery.
Good on ya for being there for your friend.
I ended up in a conversation once with a family from India, sparked by my kilt and my Chinese Que I was sporting at the time. A wonderful 15 minutes in front of a sandwich shop. I told the father that there had been a Gentleman from India who had designed his own Tartan and man, you should have seen this cat's eyes light up! Said he was gonna get a kilt.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I will pass them to my friend ... pretending that I made them up myself. Heh!
Seriously, he's gonna need that encouragement. So thank you all for posting.

After nearly a month of recuperation, my friend passed away suddenly on Sunday morning.
Thanks again for the words of encouragement you all posted here.

I know that we only met for a short time at the Buffalo kilt night, but I feel I know you well enough to know how much you are going through right now. I hope that you and his family find the strength to get through this most difficult time. I hope that the thoughts and prayers of not only your friends but your friends friends and family can pull you all through this. Remember that memories last forever even when the time on this earth is done.
God bless and god speed to you and your friends family,

I'm very sorry to hear that, UB. Thanks for letting us know, though. That is really sad.
